Happy spring everyone!

As we adjust to the coming reality of longer days, warmer weather, and greener grass, I’ve got the perfect opportunity for you to spring into action.

On Sunday May 8th, the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute will host their 20th annual Mother’s Day Walk for Peace. Founded in 1994, the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people and the community about the value of peace and assisting survivors of homicide victims with immediate crisis management services and ongoing support. This community event is a wonderful opportunity for Bostonians to rally together for the presence of healing, reconciliation, and accountability in our city and beyond.

I’m asking you to join me in raising awareness around the event. The Walk’s organizers have created lovely signs perfect for your lawn, porch, or window. These displays are currently on hold in our office, but they’d love to be placed somewhere nice by a new owner.

I encourage you to spread the good news of this event and your support for peace efforts in our own backyard by displaying one of these signs at your home!

If you would like to display a Walk for Peace sign, please email my Legislative Aide, Anthony Thomas, at anthony.thomas@masenate.gov. Be sure to include “Walk for Peace” in the subject head, and your address in the body of your email. Anthony will be in touch with sign delivery details.
