Ethan Smith, Legislative Aide, Asistente Legislativo

As a Legislative Aide, Ethan is the neighborhood liaison for Jamaica Plain and is responsible for legislative and constituent work regarding the issue areas of Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities, Economic Development, Election Laws, Financial Services, Higher Education, Housing, Labor and Workforce Development, LGBTQ Issues, Tourism, Arts, and Cultural Development, and Transportation. Ethan is also responsible for legislative work specific to the Joint Committee on Education, for which Senator Chang-Díaz serves as the Chair.

Ethan holds a Bachelor’s in Music Business Management & Marketing from Berklee College of Music and a Master’s in Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Prior to working in this role, Ethan worked in Public Affairs at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) and as a Spoken-Word Poetry Teacher for 826 Boston. Ethan is originally from Washington State and plays the saxophone.
